It was after he finished giving his gifts.. his love to them, that he decided to leave.
When he left his home, he remembered it as a coffin, something small and confined compared to the underdark, with caverns stretching for miles, he felt it would be several hours before he reached the surface. His travels would take him far and wide, this much he was certain at the time, but what he would encounter was beyond him. The man, the lich of sorts, walked along side him, the shape of his head had long ago disappeared after they had left, and to keep himself from standing out, he held the hood of his cloak up with his right hand, giving it some semblance of a circle.
The other, as he called him more often than not, had decided that a life underground was too stressful a life for someone such as himself, the pixie. Thus he was being escorted, forced or dragged in some manner to the top itself. Such concepts boggled him, the outside world was something even greater and more expansive? However his companion merley glided along on the floor and continued their travels. It was a few days before they finally reached the surface, and with each passing hour his companion seemed to grow more violent and hostile, but they at last had reached the pathway up.
He was alone again.. all alone exploring the path, subsisting off of the glowing fungi that illuminated his pathway upwards. The bright path seemed to guide him upwards towards the heave, and a life he was afraid of. He continued onward however and would eventually reach the top, and when he took his first step outside, the sunshine blinded his eyes and his mind, his fears rushed through him and he stared at the sky, and his insignificance, his weakness, and a distrust in gravity began to set in. It would not be for another 3 days till he left the confines of the underdark, not one of these days did he have the bravery or the courage to fall forever, into a void and die of starvation, of fear, and perhaps suffocation. He made his first steps out into the world, and he breathed deep, the scents of nature, foreign, and untrustworthy filled his nostrils yet again, and he continued on his journey.
In his travels he would meet a two women.. one was a figure of beauty, serenity, grace and familiarity, though her skin was pale, her shape reminded him of his home. The other, was less familiar, though it was nothing like the Duegar or gnomes? she stood at his height, and had beautiful transparent wings, something that he did not understand himself. He traveled with them for a time, using them to teach him of the outside world, of nature, and the nature of himself, but he found this incredibly dull and boring, and was constantly striving for something new and exciting, but he had at least found peace in his travels.
The Familiar one talked to him of his own wings, their similarity, and how he was born, his life, his hopes, his dreams, petty things he could care less about, but her skin was smooth and silky? and for once he was taller than someone else, so he humored her and tried to stay around her as much as possible, if not for companionship, than for his own pride. The Home-like one was much taller than even his mistresses he supposed, but his mind had long ago tried to forget those days, and the specifics of them were faint in his mind. She tried to teach him of nature, of the beauty of the world, and how to live within it, and the harmony of these things. She too, was useless to him, but he saw his home within her, and made no attempt to flee the scene, it was?. Tolerable to say the least.
That was when he met another one of those apparitions, that seemed to appear in the times of contentment. This one was not like the others, This one did not hide from the world, This one did not hide from him. He awoke in the middle of the night, and turned to look at his companions, who seemed to be missing from the camp. The Pixie stood?
Someone nearby spoke with such excitement and tenacity that he barley could understand.
?Ah you are up finally.. this is good! Very good It was getting? dull, you know? So very very very dull, how can I find things to entertain me?if there is no one??
He turned to face the final one, a man standing over 7 feet, who seemed to have more bone and skin to his body than he had any sort of muscle. His hair, red and emblazoned in a matted mess that seemed to stretch all the way down his back and those eyes.. the horrible eyes that seemed to judge him, not like property, but something else.. Something unsettling for even him.
?You do give the most wonderful gifts, I see what the others said was true, yes very true, it seemed delightful I suppose?
The pixie contented himself with silence, for the taller one demanded the conversation, and made no immediate indication that he wished for any interruption. The large one moved close, and knelt in front of him, stroking his face casually, as if inspecting a sheet of silk, examining his skin.
?I have been waiting here.. for so very long for you?.?
There was a pause n his voice as he looked curiously at him
?What are you called??
?Th-?
?It doesn?t matter, if you are to accept gifts yourself, you must have a name suitable for it, you shall take the name Yugithzale, after all, if you are to be as great as myself, you need my name.? The demon thought before continuing. It was a pleasure to meet you, and for you to give such gifts to others.. I suppose I should leave you now Yugithzale, try not to get into? too much trouble before we meet you again?
A sensation, a mixture of that which he was familiar with.. and enjoyed, mixed with something far more sinister filled his body as the hands of the large one gripped around his throat throttling him. The Original Yugithzale had begun to fade away, but in his mind?s eye he could see the outline of his face, still grinning in delight as his hands around his throats fled to the ether and away.
It was now that he peered about himself. On a rock not 10 feet lay a scene so eerie and familiar to him, it was as if he had seen himself for the first time. There the Familiar one lay, staring up at the night sky, as if she had decided that something there, was far more interesting than the world around her. He peered up curiously, but alas could not find anything of interest similar to them. The Home-like one was sitting on the side, her frame larger than that of the rock, and she seemed to have gone asleep, a long time ago, long having left the world for that of Mahrina, and so they laid, unmoving, stuck, the grass, wet, the rock dried and caked with a substance he had come to know a long time ago.
