January 22, 2004

- The Mystery Manor has been added to Tharel. This area is the first from
  Anja and Arila so give them a nice BIG thank you when you see them. Also
  please thank Kiradus and the editing staff for putting in so much hard work 
  into getting new areas ready to go in. It is time consuming to mob test,
  object balance, check mob programs and organize integration of the area into
  Tharel!
- Mages now have a new spell, transmute. It comes in the creation group and 
  can be used to change gold to silver or silver to gold.
- The abandon command has been added so that people may choose to leave their
  clan on their own and enter into Loner.
- The territory command has been made a bit more user friendly.
- The account command will now show total number of conquers and defiles.
- The clanstatus command (for leaders) will now show clanmembers total
  conquers and defiles.
- The score command will now show total hero levels gained.

March 13, 2004

- Conquering areas will now be more noticed by the general populace.
- The explore command will now reveal if an orb is not in an area if 
  the user has the direction sense skill and is in a clan.
- Some new quest statistics are present in the account command. They
  include a quest completion percentage (attempt and complete a quest
  before this will become visible) and total quest points earned are
  shown. These statistics will only track from this day forward.
- The word flawless has been replaced with the word mastered for skill
  percentages.

February 1, 2004

- The initial body part code for necromancers has been added to the Main
  port. The changes will not be visible to players at this point.

April 19, 2004

- The portal skill has been rewritten and now has the commands absorb
  and portal associated with it. Please check help portal for more
  information. Absorb allows the user to memorize a location and then
  later, use the portal spell to return to that location. 
- Firewalk has been added for myrmidons. This skill allows its user to
  walk into campfires and emerge randomly from another campfire else
  where in Tharel. There must be at least 2 campfires in existence for
  this skill to work (no it doesn't work for campfires in temples or
  clanhalls).
- Firescrye has been added for mages. A mage with a campfire present,
  an idol made by another mage, and a piece of bloodmoss to find out
  (see an image in the fire) of the location of the targetted individual.
- Transport has been added as a means for transporting idols through
  portals (especially during Days of Redemptions). Hopefully, this
  command will expand the locations where idols can be located making
  DoR more fun :)
- Whittle now only works on people in the same room as the user. 
- Campfire now has a limit to the length of time it will last. So at 
  some point when feeding wood to it, the limit is reached and will
  not progress past that.

April 25, 2004

- Clan members can now decide to vote and overthrow their clan 
  leaders without immortal intervention. (check the overthrow
  help file for more information).
- Drink containers can now be pour out over fires.
  Syntax: pour  fire
  Be careful!
- A new command has been added called bragstat. It shows mob
  kills and deaths by alignment as well as the quest statistics
  and conquering statistics.
- Account no longer shows the quest and conquering statistics.
- Clan points will now only give 10 dp per point. With the new
  heat system for Days of Redemption it is necessary to reduce
  the value of these points as a much greater number is acquired
  during the competition.
- Clanpower has been adjusted slightly.
- Fireplaces will now have to be cleaned periodically and after
  a fire is put out with a liquid poured onto it.
- A new option has been added to campfire - clean. You need a brush
  to use it and it allows the user to clean a fireplace.

May 2, 2004

- A new auto command, autocharmie, has been added.  Setting
  this option will compress mobs that are charmed and are of
  the same type when using the look command. - Sainos
- When you have more than a certain number of charmies now,
  movement messages for your charmies are consolidated into
  a single group movement message. - Sainos
- The firescrye crash bug should be fixed.
- Firewalk should now require a campfire in the room to work.
- Petrification should only work on body parts now.
- Some small message corrections have been made.
- Pour damage should kill people now when it should.
- The quest buy bug has been fixed (this bug was mostly due
  to player laziness and not typing out what you were buying).
- Mahxissa has been removed from the dream messages.
- The affect command has been changed to a table. Also characters
  of all level can see their affects, modifiers and durations.

- Longbottom's Shire has been added to the world of Tharel.
  It is the first area by Cherish so when you see here 
  give her a big Thank You! for the long hours and hard 
  work she put in. Also thanks to all the editors who
  pitched in to get this area done.
- Monk disarm now has lag when it fails.
- The affects list has had a couple minor bugs fixed in
  it.
- Dirt kick and blindness durations have been reduced.

- A new option for scattering idols has been added to 
  make Ytrewtsu's job easier during the Days of 
  Redemption.

- Monk disarm should now improve sometimes.
- The calm spell should now function properly.
- The control weather spell should now function properly.
- Call lightning should be easier to use (can be used
  on cloudy days now too).
- Earthquake now does more damage for higher temple ranks.
- Demonfire messages have changed.
- Deathwind has receieved a damage upgrade.
- Smashed doors can no longer be closed.
- Clanstatus now allows members of the clan to view
  everyone's clanstatus of their rank or lower.
- Some small typos have been fixed.

- A new prayer history command has been added for the staff (phistory).
- Prayers now have a time stamp associated with them. You will see it

- Runeblade has been changed to accomodate targetting
  different weapons and runes while using.
- Racestat and phistory bugs have been fixed.
- Material damage messages for item elimination have 
  been fixed.
- Control weather now only works outside. Its messages also now
  go to everyone outside in the area.
- Dispel good and evil have different messages based on temples.

- Spell message bugs (frenzy and weaken) fixed.
- Channels command ic off and racestat immunities

June 25, 2004
- Auction, identify and lore have received some much needed 
  error checking for newlines and returns.
- Auction info will now show the current bid.
- Pk approval should now save thus eliminating the difficulty 
  in time zones for coordinating approval.
- Weaponsmiths should now have a damage verb associated with
  whatever weapons they make.
- Putting an item into a closed container will now show the
  container's short description instead of its first keyword.
* Now for the fun stuff *
- A new auto flag has been coded to allow two (pkjoined) players 
  who are in the battle arena in Naerlan and have the SPAR flag
  on to fight without generating pk flags or notes. This ability
  will not protect you from pk from an outside party. You can toggle
  the spar flag on and off.
- Autoremind is a command that allows the user to toggle it on and
  receive an automated reminder to vote for AU. Please see the help
  file for proper usage.
- The format for the changes file has changed.

July 1, 2004
- Victims who are attacked by someone lower than 10 levels
  below their level should be able to attack their attacker
  now.
- The invasion code for secondary clan halls is now finished.
  Please be patient while we integrate the new code with the
  existing halls (You will not be able to invade during this
  time - Maximum of 3 hours after reboot)
- The word of recall spell now allows for different options
  including different clan halls and temple. Your pet will
  now recall with you to your clan hall or temple depending
  on where you travel to.
- The claninfo command should look a little bit different and
  no longer includes the clan guards.
- The clanguard command has been added so that clans can
  check the statistics of their guards for the different halls
  that they own. Please be patient while we get the hall code
  set up.

July 3, 2004
- Surrender should no longer allow a higher level character to
  attack a lower level one outside of their pk range who hasn't
  attacked them.
- A bug with yell was fixed.
- Clans may now name their clan halls for roleplay purposes. This 
  information is now available in claninfo as is clan hall room
  count. (Names may only be 10 characters or less).
- Houseinfo now includes the heal and mana rate as well as room 
  name. Additionally guard information is now included in houseinfo
  for manor houses.
- (Immortal only) House info now allows for listing of houses and shows
  vnums for guards and rooms.
- (Immortal Only) Hmedit now has additional listing capabilities including
  options for all/manor/house/vnum.
    
July 5, 2004
- Naerlan guards should no longer arrest dead (pk dead) people.
- A new command has been added called keep. This command is used to
  mark items with a keep flag which will prevent you from sacrificing
  dropping, selling or auctioning the item. The syntax is to mark the
  item is keep . The syntax for keep flag removal is keep .
  If an item is marked with a keep flag, it will show up as a (K) in
  your inventory.

July 10, 2004
- The monk mantra healing touch has been limited to same area only (this
  was the original intention but somehow it got overlooked for a while).
- Quality and material hardness now affect weapon damage. You should see
  a small increase in weapon damage due to both of these features. Neither
  reduces damage.
- The higher up tier 2 skills in the Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing 
  tradeguilds should now improve at a slightly faster rate.
- Weaponsmithing has been reevaluated and tweaked slightly. Weapons created
  using these trade skills should be better in average damage and cost.
  Also the weapon damage verbs should now be working correctly.
- The tradestat command was put in for the immortal staff.

July 24, 2004
- A new skill for myrmidons has been added called runecut. It allows
  the user to cut a rune and produce a gem of power that is useful in
  the casting of the instillation spells.
- A new spell group called instillation for mages has been added. The
  group contains 5 spells that are useful for enchanting weapons. 
- Enchant weapon and enchant armor will now only work on items that
  are not crafted by players.
- Gems now have different types - Identify, lore and auction info have
  been changed to show these types.
- Please check the help files for more information on runecut or the
  various instillation spells.
  
July 25, 2004
- The mend ability has been added. This ability can be used to repair
  smashed doors. You must be holding a hammer to do so.
- The revive ability has been added. This ability allows the user to
  attempt to revive someone by dumping the entire contents of their
  drink container onto the person's face. This ability only works if
  the target is affected by knock or sleep.
- A small bug for the display of the crafted by field in lore and
  auction info has been fixed.
- Several spelling errors were fixed regarding monk combinations.
- The cost of items in shops is now displayed as gold and silver.
- The worn flag will now no longer save.
- Janitor spirits should no longer pick up items.
- The pound and quench commands for tradeguilds have been adjusted
  slightly.
  
July 25, 2004 (second copyver)
- Shopkeeper costs and sell and buy messages for pets and other objects
  have been changed to show gold and silver.
- A new spell group called infusion has been added for mages. The group
  currently contains 7 spells for armor enchantment and should eventually
  have 10 or 11 spells in it.
- Clan upkeep is now totalled at the bottom of the note that is sent
  to the clans. 
- A small pluralization bug and a small capitalization bug were fixed.

July 26, 2004 
- Hamstring has been recoded and adjusted for playability. It is now
  a skill that requires a blade. The level for charlatans has been 
  lowered to 55 and the lag on the skill has been reduced by a third.
  Try it out to see the specifics.
- Infuse energy, health and stamina have all been added to the 
  infusion group. 
- Some formatting changes have been made to the spells and info
  commands.

July 27, 2004 
- Bug fixes were put in to fix the clan skills.
- The message on hamstring has been changed.
- Runecut now will not work with nonrune items. Also, it now takes 
  off 400 mana for usage as was originally intended.
- The enchantment spell messages have been changed slightly. 
  Additionally the chance to increase quality on a weapon has been
  reduced.

July 28, 2004 
- A large bug with higher level characters being able to attack lower
  level ones in pk has been fixed.

July 31, 2004 
- Lost Kingdoms - levels 60 to 85 has been added to Tharel
  as a replacement of Divided Souls. Let the immortal staff
  know if you have any conflicting equipment and we will remove
  it from your body.

- The IC channel will no longer allow socials. We are
  doing this in an attempt to eliminate some of the 
  useless spam. Emotes are still possible.
- The damage roll present on weapons should now affect
  damage a touch more (nothing that will be overly
  visible).
- Some new information has been added for races. It is not
  yet visible to the masses.
- Immortal - Wiznet logins will now show more information 
  when someone quits the game.

September 8, 2004

- A few bug fixes have been put in.
- Temple quests are somewhat different now, locations are
  determined differently and an alternative has been added.
- The olc commands to add the racial information to the race
  tables has been bug fixed to allow decimals to be used.

September 11, 2004

- Customizable appearances are now up and working. This code
  allows users to pick hair color, eye color, skin color, 
  body type, height and weight. These appearance characteristics 
  are based on race and the various options and ranges for each 
  one are listed under racestat .
- The creation sequence now contains an option for customizing your
  appearance (right after the choice for Male/Female). People who
  do not choose to customize their appearance during creation will
  be randomly assigned characteristics from their racial list.
- Existing characters will NOT have any appearance characteristics
  set for them. These will have to be set using the appearance command.
- A new command called appearance has been added to allow existing
  characters to set their appearance characteristics. You will only
  be allowed to set each characteristic once so make sure you know
  how to use the command and the option you want to choose before 
  setting it.
  Syntax: appearance  
- The look and glance command have been altered to show the new
  appearance characteristics.
- Immortals have gained a command called appreset.
- In the future, this code will be used in formulating disguise skills,
  illusion spells and other changes in appearance. 
  
September 18, 2004

- The jail timer will no longer wear off if you are AFK. 
- The bail command now transfers the prisoner to the Sheriff's office
  to be freed.
- The war channel no longer allows socials.
- The plunder skill can no longer be practiced by spectres.
- The new pker flag now has an ultimate time limit of 10 hours of play
  time. Existing players with the new pker flag will get 5 hours of
  play on their current flag. At the end of that time, they will lose
  their status as new pkers.
- The unpkjoin command has been added to allow players to test out
  the pk system. At any time after a player has pk joined and before
  their new pker flag has been removed, they may choose to get out
  of the pk system. This trial is only available once.

  system.

- Some typos in the gambling programs have been fixed.
- The lore skill, identify spell and the auction info
  command have been altered slightly to give some more
  information.
- Monks will now have a harder time hitting armor
  classes outside of their normal range for their level.
- A new skill called endow has been added for clerics.
  Endow can be used in conjunction with the cleric's
  god's godstone to enhance the abilities of a light 
  or a weapons by merging the godstone with the item.
  This skill can only be used by clerics level 75 and
  above with rank 7 or higher in their temple. 
- The stance list data format has changed to table form.
  This command will not recieve the same abilities as
  the practice command regarding showing specific
  skill levels as the volume of data is easy to read
  and relatively minimal in comparision.
- Monk hammer punch should show the correct damage word.
  

December 5, 2004
- Spirit Invisibility will no longer work when the user
  has faerie fire on them.
- Infuse stamina has a little tweak added to it.
- Faerie fire should now give the aggressor a pk flag
  if they start a fight with it.
- Manor guards should no longer pop as spirits.
- An immortal command for wiping all conquered areas 
  has been added.

December 12, 2004
- Dreams should now work again.
- Sex dreams should now go to the right sex (although it
  will take us a little while to make sure they are all set).
- Clan guards should load again properly.

- The fdream command has been added for immortals.
- Immortals that are ready to step back from their responsibilities
  may now retire.
- Clan halls reset a little differently from before.

December 19, 2004
- The throwing skill has been revised and bug fixed. While we are
  testing for robustness, we will only be enabling throwing which
  will only work for rocks and boulders (for giants). When we are
  certain the throwing skill by itself is functioning correctly, we
  will enable the weapon skills so they may be gained again. (bug 
  fixing was by Sainos)

December 24, 2004
- The clanstatus command will now show statistics to everyone in the
  clan. It is no longer limited to seeing people with your rank or
  lower.
- The endow command actually fails now when it fails, instead of giving
  pseudo successes.
- The Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Sheriff now get more leeway from the
  Naerlan guards.
- The citycode and guidelines commands now have save options for the
  Deputy Mayor and Mayor.
- Translate now works correctly even when you log off and back on again.
- The territory command will no longer make people visible if they
  are hiding.
- Pets' eyes can no longer be wiped when they are in battle.
- Readjust has been limited to metal armor (as it should have been).
- The stormorder command is now limited by the logon pk timer.
